Sharks

We love sharks in this family--I am not sure how it really got started. We watch shows about sharks, play sharks and my son was a shark for Halloween two years in a row--isn't this costume hillarious?!

Sooo when I found this shark cooking project we had to try it out!! They are Hostess Twinkis with a cookie on top (for the fin) then dipped in warm frosting----when they cool you add the details: fruit roll up for the mouth, frosting for the teeth and chocolate chips for the eyes!! Soo fun, the kids loved this project!

Inspiration Board: Sail Boats

We had some friends over today for a little 'sail boat' fun! I found these adorable model sail boats at Michales for $1!!! The kids put them together, painted them and then had a little regatta in the pool! We are moving in a month and we have a sail boat in the San Francisco bay that we are leaving...I am a little sad and hope that we are able to buy a new one in the future--I adore sailing and will really miss sailing under the gorgeous Golden Gate!!

Fancy Nancy Party

We had a Fancy Nancy birthday Party for my daughter today and had a lot of 'fancy' fun! We made a parfait bar (parfait is fancy for ice cream) . The kids had a lot of fun creating their own fancy ice cream sundaes!

I made this fancy tent (with technical support from my fabulous husband)!
The tent was the perfect place for the kids to sit and read Fancy Nancy books! We bought the birthday girl a pink harp and the kids played beautiful 'fancy' music under the tent........

I re-covered this chair recently and it was perfect our our fancy photo shoot!

I love monogrammed decor....even her headband had a letter 'A' on it..........

We had a 'Posh Puppy Boutique' where the kids were able to make their own 'Posh Puppy'....they dressed their puppies in fur, sweaters, tutus and hats--- then they packed their puppies and their clothes in a fancy carrying case.

Mermaid Birthday Celebration

It is my daughter's birthday today and we were supposed to have her party this weekend but decided to do it on Monday because a lot of people were out of town for Father's day weekend. We did a little mermaid family celebration today and she had a blast!
We made a little mermaid grotto out of netting and she played with her mermaids in it all day!

We made mermaid cup cake toppers using clothes pins, fabric and stringy yarn for the mermaid's hair--this was a fun project and they looked too cute on top of the cupcakes!!

Rainbow Fish Fun!

We were inspired to create a Rainbow Fish candy mosaic--love all the summer fun!!

Lifeguard Party

We did a lifeguard theme party for my son a couple of years ago at a local amusement park. My husband was a beach lifeguard in Southern California and my son hopes to be one some day!


I made 'life preserver' cup cake toppers using white donuts and fruit leather.
I found these great life guard visors for the kids, it was a great party....especially because they gave us a party room with two coordinators, prepared all of the food and cleaned up the mess.....priceless!!
